NEW YORK (PRWEB) AUGUST 03, 2020: Today, during Black Hat USA 2020, Axonius, the cybersecurity asset management company, announced that it has become a Silver Sponsor and partner of the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP). Instead of giving away marketing merchandise at this year’s virtual Black Hat, Axonius will instead donate $10 to the organization for every booth visit they secure at the event.

Cybersecurity professionals are tasked with protecting organizations’ most sensitive assets. However, there is a major global under-representation of minorities and women in the fast-growing discipline, and an increasing need for talent as IT environments grow more complex. ICMCP’s mission is to achieve consistent representation of women and minorities in cybersecurity through programs that are designed to foster recruitment, inclusion, and retention.

In addition to its efforts at Black Hat, Axonius’ ICMCP sponsorship will also fund educational scholarships that support recipients in pursuing careers in the cybersecurity industry. Members of the Axonius team will also volunteer time with the ICMCP and serve as mentors to its members.

“At Axonius, we believe in working and living in the pursuit of freedom, inclusion, and equality,” said Dean Sysman, CEO and co-founder of Axonius. “We are constantly investing to live up to these efforts, one example being our partnership with the ICMCP. We’re proud to support the ICMPC through our latest initiative at Black Hat, and to continue that support by way of scholarships, volunteerism, and mentorship.”

The announcement comes on the heels of Axonius’ multiple corporate social responsibility initiatives, including its cooperation with Steph and Ayesha Curry’s organization, eat.learn.play., and the company’s creation of Cybersecurity Cares, a resource center for cybersecurity professionals as they adapt to remote workforces amid COVID-19. Axonius is also offering its Asset Management Platform for free to healthcare providers, helping them evaluate their security posture and asset management practices to identify risk during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In anticipation of the upcoming presidential election, Axonius will also launch The Great Debate following Black Hat, a webinar series that will feature two guests, pitted against one another to debate the most disputed cybersecurity topics, such as zero trust, password management, endpoint protection, patch and vulnerability management, and more. If interested in participating in the webinar, check out the call for speakers here to learn more.
