With access to Axonius, federal agencies gain a unified view of their assets and coverage, enabling better enforcement of their security policies
NEW YORK (PRWEB) JULY 16, 2020
Axonius, the cybersecurity asset management company, today announced it has been added to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Program Approved Products List (APL), allowing for purchase through the General Services Administration (GSA). The company has also received Cryptographic Algorithm Validation Program (CAVP) certification for its product's use of the OpenSSL Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Object Module.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, federal, state, and local governments were already investing in IT modernization and digitization. Now, with the explosion of remote work, agencies face an increasing proliferation of devices and more assets hosted in the cloud. This is generating immediate urgency for federal CISOs to make quick and large strides to gain a comprehensive view of assets and activity within their infrastructure. By adopting a solution like Axonius, federal agencies immediately gain this unified view of all their assets and their coverage, empowering them to ask questions, get answers, and take action to enforce their security policies.
The DHS Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) CDM program is leading the effort to reduce cyber risk and provide visibility across the federal government. The program delivers automated tools to federal agencies to strengthen their ability to identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks on an ongoing basis, prioritize these risks based on potential impacts, and quickly enable cybersecurity personnel to focus on the most significant problems first. The program provides cybersecurity tools, integration services, and dashboards to participating agencies to support them in improving their respective security posture. All federal agencies can now purchase CDM products like Axonius on the APL through the GSA.
Additionally, CAVP is a program managed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to validate testing for FIPS approved and NIST recommended cryptographic algorithms and components of algorithms. Axonius received validation for its product's use of the OpenSSL FIPS Object Module (v2.0.16).
“The pandemic has demonstrated the critical importance of having deep, contextual knowledge of an agency’s asset inventory,” said Bobby McLernon, Vice President of Federal Sales at Axonius. “We work hand-in-hand with government agencies to offer a unified view of all assets, uncover security solution coverage gaps, and then automatically validate and enforce their security policies. The milestones we’ve reached today ensure we can continue to support our federal customers as they continue to address evolving security risks, especially as they continue to transition to increased digital operations.”
The news comes on the heels of Axonius’ earlier announcement that it had hired Bobby McLernon to lead its Federal division, who has been working to further develop the company’s federal offerings specific to civilian, Department of Defense, and intelligence agencies. In May, Axonius was added to the roster of NASA SEWP-approved solutions.
As federal agencies continue to evolve to address new cloud and IT needs, Axonius is essential for providing timely and exact data for security asset management. To learn more about Axonius’s work across the U.S. government, visit http://www.axonius.com.
