Black Hat 2024 in Las Vegas is almost here. We’ve curated a list of talks, parties, and other highlights you’ll want to know about at this year's show.
What is Black Hat USA 2024?
In its 27th year, Black Hat USA is a six-day program focused on cybersecurity. With thousands of cybersecurity professionals attending Black Hat USA at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, the week begins with four days of cybersecurity training on August 3–8. The two-day main conference on August 7-8 consists of more than 100 selected Briefings, dozens of demos, a robust Business Hall, social events, and more.
Black Hat USA 2024 Trainings
There are countless training sessions in 15 different tracks, ranging from beginner to advanced skill levels. You can find the full list of available trainings and sort by track and skill level. A few highlights:
- 2024, A Space Hacking Odyssey: This training shares the challenges of cybersecurity in space. You’ll get to fly and operate a simulated satellite, learn how to hide malicious activity on space systems, and more.
- Defending Enterprises - 2024 Edition: For this training, you'll play a SOC analyst in our Microsoft Sentinel cloud-based lab, attempting to rapidly locate IOA's and IOC's from a live enterprise breach executed by the trainers in real-time.
- Hacking Cybersecurity Leadership: An Interactive Training to Strengthen Skills for Leading Teams & Multi-Team Systems: This training that acts as a sandbox provides participants a chance to familiarize with and practice using 10 analog leadership tools designed to strengthen soft skills and support and motivate individuals, teams, and multi-team systems.
Black Hat USA 2024 Briefings
Black Hat Briefings are meant to give cybersecurity professionals a place to discover the very latest in information security risks, research, and trends. Briefings are on Wednesday, August 7, and Thursday, August 8, and here's the full schedule. Interesting topics include:
- Keynote: Democracy's Biggest Year: The Fight for Secure Elections Around the World: This session will unpack how key international leaders are approaching election security risks to the democratic processes and ensure that 2024 is no anomaly, but an inflection point.
- Breaching AWS Accounts Through Shadow Resources: This talk will present six critical vulnerabilities found in AWS, along with how they were discovered, lessons learned and information on future research.
- Driving Forces Behind Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation for Critical Infrastructure: This briefing explores the idea that manufacturers must enhance resilience and reliability to overcome adverse events as critical infrastructure becomes increasingly digital.
Black Hat USA 2024 Business Hall
